Hi! I’m Carol L. Gonzales. I have been in the legal field for over thirty (30) years as of 2025, having worked my way from being a file clerk and receptionist at an unlawful detainer law office where I not only did filings, but obtained judgments on moved out former tenants and answered the telephone.

In the years since, I spent a bulk of my years as a legal secretary, putting in commas and scheduling hearings—all the while overhearing lawyers talk about everything from wording to how a hearing went. While I could not understand every little thing—fulfilling my dictation duties enabled me to learn principles in more detail.

It wasn’t until 2008—where I just wanted a paralegal job, being fully credentialed with a bachelor degree and American Bar Association-approved paralegal certificate—that I could not find a job despite my concerted efforts. I prayed, and things began to unfold. I met a gal who connected me with a California Bar accredited law school which was affordable and allowed me to work. In the meantime, I ended up working for a couple of national insurance companies, inhouse, where I did discovery, law and motion and a whole lotta trial prep. In fact, one of the lawyers I worked for went to trial about once every ten days.

I finally graduated law school in August 2015, with my class after a fellow classmate inspired me to continue onto my last year despite all my struggles with school and trying to stay afloat in the real world. He saw my struggle enough to then encourage me to walk in our graduation ceremony which made all my teasing about how this classmate’s wife, ‘dressed him good!’ worthwhile.

Since at least 2019, I have researched and written for lawyers, putting my knowledge of practices, trends and legal principles to use for them. I have encouraged and coached a wide variety of lawyers, none of whose identities I’ve divulged. Consistently over the years, my phone has rung with a different lawyer refusing to tell me who referred him or her.

And so it was that I had a project where, as with other projects, I realized that I took great pleasure answering a lawyer’s questions, explaining why I had written certain things and encouraging lawyers to ‘go get ‘em!’

Encouraging or coaching lawyers even in the face of loss and finding some unique angle, still adhering to legal principles, is what I seek to make Stardust Legal Solution’s brand.
